Share
Perfect for the autumn weather, these after-school caramel apples are so easy to whip up and have ready for a sweet afternoon treat.
Ingredients:
1 small tub (16 oz) Caramel apple dip (I used this)
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Grated nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon of vegetable or coconut oil
6 Apples
Bamboo sticks
Sprinkles (whatever kind you love, I used Halloween, but your favorite team colors or autumn would be fantastic!)
Serves 6
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 3 to 5 mins
Let’s get cooking:
Wash apples and let dry, prep sprinkles in small container that will fit the apples for dipping. Place a parchment sheet on a baking sheet that will fit all the apples. Push the sticks into the center of the top of the apple.
In a microwave glass dish, empty the one container of caramel dip, oil, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Stir until combined.
Microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between (about 2 to 3 mins) the caramel should be warm and slide off the spoon easily.
Dip apples 3/4s of the way up and using the spoon to help cover the apples with caramel.
After dipping the apples, dip into the sprinkles and then place on the parchment paper. Repeat with remaining apples.
Place apples in the refrigerator until set about 1 hour.
Enjoy!
